Aniimo Reviews and Beta Impressions by Version
The two articles below describe early 2026 closed-beta play. They are useful records of how that build felt to their authors, not final launch reviews and not hands-on testing by Aniimo Field Guide.
January 29: PC Gamer
Lauren Morton’s feature, published January 29, 2026, found the game familiar and its interconnected reward menus unappealing after several beta hours. She also identified more promising parts: accessible multiplayer and interactions between wild creatures. Her criticism of presentation was explicitly framed as something that could change before release.

Genghis Husameddin’s “Late Jan ’26 Closed Beta Test” impressions were more positive about emergent creature interactions, combat support and customization. He also reported rendering, scripting and interface problems and found the setting poorly explained. His favorable conclusion concerned potential despite the beta’s roughness.

Why they differ
Both authors observed a beta with technical and narrative weaknesses. They weighted its systems differently: one found too little originality, while the other valued the environmental interactions. Those are attributed judgments, not inconsistent measurements that can be averaged into a score.
The developer’s September 3 letter describes subsequent changes. That is evidence of announced revisions, not independent verification that every reported problem is fixed. No scored release review is supplied in this guide. Consult release status and compare version dates before using an older preview to decide what the launch build will be like.
